Abstract

930,934. Clamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 3, 1962 [May 3, 1961], No. 16037/61. Class 44. A toggle fastener comprises a clasp lever 1, a swing lever 2 and an attachment piece 3 provided by a unitary moulding of a plastics material, e.g. polypropylene, with thinned sections 4 and 5 between those parts which provide pivots at each end of the swing lever 2. In the arrangement according to Fig. 2, as applied to the fastening together of parts of a light fitting, the attachment piece 3 seats on a flange 6 of one part, or is attached thereto and is formed to provide a stop for the lever 2 in the operative position shown in full lines. As applied to the fastening together of the two parts 10 and 11 of a case, Fig. 3, the clasp lever 12 is apertured to engage a hook 13 secured to the part 11 and the attachment piece which is L-shaped is attached to the part 10.
