930,009. Spectacle frames. F. O. WHEWAY. Feb. 9, 1961 [Feb. 19, 1960], No. 5912/60. Class 97 (1). A spectacle frame comprises a bridge piece 4 on which is formed or secured a pair of platelike parts 5 (only one shown), a pair of brow bars 10, a pair of flexible members 14 having plates 13 for retaining the lenses and means passing through the brow bars and said parts into the plates 13 respectively to interconnect the brow bars and the members with the bridge piece. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 these means each comprise a projection 17 which passes through holes in the part 5 and bar 10 and has a socket therein into which a screw is threaded, the head of the screw being in the brow bar. Rivets 8 are provided on the parts 5 to engage holes in the brow bars and members 14. The members 14 may have retaining grooves for the lenses and their respective tensions may be varied by means of a screw 21 and sockets 20.
