Abstract
929,949. Pressure gauges; recording apparatus. MINISTER OF THE MINISTERUL INDUSTRIEI PETROLULUI SI CHIMIEI. March 21, 1960 [March 20, 1959], No. 9918/60. Classes 106 (2) ond 106 (4). A differential pressure gauge uses a rotating piston in the form of a rod 9, moving in the wall between two chambers 3, 4, subjected to the pressure difference and carrying a stylus 15 movable over a stationary recording sheet 16. The chamber 4 assumes through a check valve 17a pressure corresponding to that in the space surrounding the instrument, e.g., the bottom of an oil well, and the pressure in the chamber 3 is set at a suitable fixed reference pressure. Axial movements of the piston 9 against a coil-spring 7 measure the well pressure in relation to this fixed pressure. The piston 9 is rotated by a clockwork motor 5 through a rod 8 and spring 7 and the record sheet 16 is mounted on the inside of a cylindrical drum so that the stylus 15 rotates with the piston 9 as it moves vertically under changes in the pressure differential between the chambers 3, 4, and registers them on the sheet 16.
