Abstract
929,876. Thermal switches; fluid actuation of switches. C. H. GERDES. July 10, 1959 [May 28, 1959], No. 23790/59. Class 38 (5)]. A support plate 18, pivoted at 22 and carrying three contact blades 17 with contacts 16 which co-operate with fixed contacts 20, is operable by a push-rod 6 responsive to movement of a pressure-sensitive element, e.g. a diaphragm (not shown), or by a rod 6a operable by a thermally-sensitive bi-metal 8. Two tension springs 17<SP>1</SP> are connected to plate 18 and to a strap 23 connected with a tongue 24 carried by the base 1. A leaf-spring 25 secured to a terminal block 12 presses on the tongue 24 and spring 25 is adjustable by a screw 27. The rod 6a bears on an adjustable member 28 on the plate 18. The rods 6, 6a pass through the base 1 in a sealed manner. The contacts 16 are individually adjustable by screws 19, the screws and parts of the springs 17 being separated by barriers 21, and the contacts 20 by ribs 21a.
