929,283. Contact members for switches. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 13, 1959 [Oct. 15, 1958], No. 32962/58. Class 38 (5). A switch controlled by a cam 22 has an electromagnet, in series with its contacts, which acts to increase the contact pressure when the current increases. The cam 22 acts on a roller 24 on an arm 15 pivoted at 18 and biased by a spring 21 to close contacts 10, 13. The contact 13 is connected to a terminal 36 through lever 14, connector 20, block 17, link 38, coil 34 and link 35 so that when the contacts are closed current can flow through this circuit. When the coil 34 is energized an armature 30 is attracted to a yoke 27 and a lever 29, carrying the armature 30 and pivoted at 28, acts through link 31 on the arm 15 to increase the contact pressure.
