Abstract

928,935. Hasp fastenings. C. W. CHENEY & SON Ltd. April 10, 1962 [May 10, 1961], No. 16946/61. Classes 44 and 65 (2). A hasp on a luggage fitting comprises a movable member 13 carrying a pivot pin 34 which extends laterally of the member and the ends are received in pockets 19 formed in the fixed member 17 of the hasp, the pin 34 being retained by tongues 21 on said fixed member bent over and closing said pockets. The movable member 13 comprises parts 22, 23 which are placed together after the fixing of the loop 14 and secured together by bending the lugs 26 into recesses 27. The pin 34 is then threaded through one of the eyes 31 of part 22, then through the spring 35 and finally through the other eye 31, after which the assembly is placed with the pin ends in the pockets 19 and the tongues 21 bent over.
