Abstract

927,820. Agricultural implements. ROTARY HOES Ltd. March 7, 1962 [March 23, 1961] No. 10607/61. Class 6(1). A rotor for a cultivating machine of the kind having a transversely arranged power driven rotor supporting laterally extending earth-working tools which are spade-like and are arranged to dig a spit of earth and turn it sideways as the rotor rotates is characterized in that the rotor shaft is hollow and each tool is journalled in the shaft and has a laterally extending follower for co-action with a stationary swash cam within the hollow shaft. As shown the rotor is equipped with several annular rows of tools 30, there being three tools 30 in each row journalled in a housing 10 and each provided with a follower in the form of a roller 43 which runs in a groove 46 in a stationary swash plate 35 which is fixed in the shaft 34. The housings are joined by tubular spacers 11.
