926,274. Pistons. CROSS MANUFACTURING CO. (1938) Ltd. March 13, 1962 [May 10, 1961], No. 16978/61. Class 122 (1). In a piston-and-ring assembly comprising a split bearing- ring 3 mounted in a groove 2 in the piston 1, the ring is of rectangular section longer in the axial direction than in the radial and is of frusto-conical form with the smaller diameter directed towards the piston crown. The conicity of the ring may be of the order of 3 degrees to 4 degrees. The lower edge of the ring acts as a scraper.
