Abstract

926,051. Rectifying. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Feb. 5, 1960 [Feb. 7, 1959], No. 4236/60. Class 38 (2). Semi-conductor rectifiers 3 are protected against overload by a short-circuit path closed by member 6, and impedances are included in the short-circuit path to limit the short-circuit current. The impedances may be provided by ohmic resistances 7, an auxiliary transformer with leakage reactance (Fig. 2, not shown), or additional secondary windings with leakage reactance on the input transformer (Fig. 3, not shown). In a high-voltage arrangement (Fig. 4) the input transformer may have three sets of secondary windings, each set comprising a star- and a delta-connected winding, each winding being connected to a three-phase bridge arrangement. Additional secondary winding 8 can be short-circuited by member 6. A fuse 9 may be connected in series with each rectifier. An impulse transformer may effect operation of member 6.
