Abstract

925,258. Bolts. WILKINSON SWORD Ltd., and H. B. RANDOLPH. Feb. 8, 1962 [Feb. 10, 1961], No. 5011/61. Class 89 (1). A bolt coupling for interconnecting the blades of shears &c., comprises a bolt 11 with a screwthread 11a on its shank, a nut 12 to receive the bolt and a lock-washer 13 keyed to the shank 12a of the nut 12 and adapted to engage the head 11d of the bolt. A pair of internal teeth 13a in the washer engage recesses 12f in the shank 12a, which enters an annular groove 11g in the head 11d. Slots 11e in the head 11d co-operate with teeth 13b on the washer, there being one more tooth 13b than the number of slots 11e or a multiple of that number, so that when the blades are clamped between the-head 12d of the nut 12 and the washer 13 or an additional washer, one of the teeth 13b may be turned over into a slot 11e. A screw-driver slot 12e is provided in the head 12d.
