Abstract

924,890. Thermoplastic containers. PLASTIC PACKAGING Ltd., T. N. GAUNT, and J. H. DRAPER. May 6, 1959 [Feb. 19, 1958], No 5328/58. Class 66. The rim of a thermoplastic container 1 of frusto-conical form is collapsed to form two contiguous flanges 4 which are sealed together by heat after the container is filled. The walls of the container may be stepped to give rigidity and the container may be of polystyrene. A corner of the sealed portion may be torn off to provide an outlet, the corner being creased or scored for this purpose as at 5. Alternatively part of the sealed portion may be severed, slotted or furnished with a tag to aid in opening the container. The container may be produced by suction moulding.
