Abstract

The invention comprises a compound having the general formula: <FORM:0923946/IV(a)/1> wherein Ac is the acyl radical of a hydrocarbon carboxylic acid containing from 1-12 carbon atoms inclusive and the 1,2-carbon linkage is a single or a double bond linkage, and a process for the preparation thereof which comprises treating a compound having the formula <FORM:0923946/IV(a)/2> wherein X is bromine, chlorine or iodine, with a base, e.g. potassium acetate.
