Abstract

923,247. Rotary garden sprinklers. TUDOR ACCESSORIES Ltd. Dec. 8, 1961 [Feb. 7, 1961], No. 4562/61. Class 69 (3). A water sprinkler comprises a hollow body 1 (Fig. 2), having a water inlet 7, for attachment to a hose-pipe 8, and a water outlet 4 coaxially in which is rotatably mounted an axiallyflared circular deflector 9 the smaller end of the deflector being towards the outlet and the sloping surface having ribs 12 so that water emitted from the outlet 4 impinging against the ribs causes the water deflector to rotate. The water inlet is tangential to the circular body so that an initial swirling motion is imparted to the water which continues up the tube 5 giving the water a component of velocity normal to the ribs which are curved.
