923,150. Measuring folded material. E. A. NASH. June 28, 1961 [June 30, 1960], No. 22925/60. Class 106 (2). A rule for measuring folded material comprises a graduated tongue 4 under which the material is passed. The tongue may be formed by slits 3 and may be coplanar with the body top 1 or may have a bend 6 at its root end to give it a raised disposition. Alternatively, the tongue may overlie an uninterrupted body top by which it is carried. The extremities 5 of the slot or the surface formed at the root of the tongue by bend 6 serve as an abutment for the fold of the material. The rule can be used for forming hems of a required depth on garments, the hem progressing lengthwise through the device. Supporting portions 2 are provided for the body top 1 and a recess 8 may be provided for a clamp.
