Abstract

922,939. Delivering sheets. CUMMINSCHICAGO CORPORATION. Sept. 13, 1961 [Sept. 15, 1960], No. 32886/61. Class 100 (1). Documents from a channel 12 are fed by rollers 14, 15 to a stacking roller 20. The roller 20 is smooth and in slight frictional contact with a table 18 or with documents already on the table the latter being thereby moved down against the force of springs 26 as documents are piled on the table. Stiff documents are deflected downwards by a plate 30, while flimsy ones drop on to the table or document pile as at 32a. The leading edges of the documents are carried by the roller 20 to abut an end flange 18b, a stationary plate 21 preventing buckling. The documents vary in length between L1 and L2 and in the case of long documents the trailing edge is forced downwards by ribs 36 on the roller 15 so as to lie on the pile.
