Abstract
920,790. Rotary conveyers; endless conveyers. MORGAN FAIREST Ltd. Oct. 19, 1961 [April 13, 1961], No. 13265/61. Class 78 (1). Small light articles such as jars 6 with wide tops tapering to smaller bases are prevented from overturning on a rotary feed table 1 by a cover-plate 19 having but a small clearance 20 (see Fig. 3). Jars 6 are fed on to the table 1 through an inlet 10 and are carried to an outlet 11 where portion 14 of a rail 13 forms a funnel. Surplus jars 6A to the immediate capacity of the outlet are carried past the portion 14 the table 1 acting as a store, the active part of the table 1 being an annulus formed between an upstanding wall 17, shaped to match the taper of the jars 6 and a rim 4 having a curved face 5 arranged to contact the jars 6 above their midheight. A transparent cover-plate 19 permits observation of the articles on the table 1 so that the clearance 20 and the height of the rim 4 may be suitably adjusted. Disc 16, which forms the wall 17 may be mounted off-centre so that the gap between wall 17 and outlet portion 14 varies as the table rotates to assist in urging the jars 6 into the outlet.
