920,382. Speed-responsive switches. SCRIPTA S.A. April 10, 1961, No. 12911/61. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXVI] In a speed-controlled motor (see Group XXVI) fixed and sliding whorls 2, 5, carrying balls 4, 7, rotate with the motor shaft 1. Whorl 5, bearing 9 and pad 10 engage hinged blade 11 which carries contact 13. Contacts 13, 14 in the motor-control circuit are urged together by a spring 15 carried by screw 16 engaged in nut 17. A knob 20, which may be fitted with a pointer moving over a speed-calibrated scale, turns shaft 19 to rotate screw 16 through pin 18 to vary the spring pressure. With rise of shaft speed, balls 4, 7 are urged together to lift whorl 5 to break the circuit at contacts 13, 14.
