Abstract

919,774. Storing liquefied gases. WHESSOE Ltd. Sept. 29, 1961 [Oct. 5, 1960], No. 34122/60. Class 8(2). [Also in Group XXIX]. A liquid storage tank 2 has a vapour pressure relief valve 4 and a second such valve 6 set to operate at a lower pressure, the valve 6 being rendered inoperative when the level of the liquid is above the level 5-5. The valve 6 is mounted on a standpipe 7 which may be thermally insulated and which extends from a liquid trap 8, wherein baffles 9 separate liquid out from the vapour in the standpipe and return the liquid to the tank through a pipe 10.
