918,909. Vehicle opening tops. STUTTGARTER KAKQSERIEWERK REUTTER & CO G.m.b.H. Dec. 7, 1961 [Dec. 24, 1960], No. 43835/61. Class 108(1). The rear hoop-stick 4 of a foldable roof is pivoted at 2 to the vehicle body and carries at each side a pair of arms 11, 12 pivoted together at 9, to the hoop-stick 4 ;at 14 and to the rear window frame 7 at 33, the other connections 15 and 16 being slidable ones. A toothed rack 17 connected to the slide 16 is moved by a gear 18 operated by the motor 20 to bring the rear frame 7 forwardly to enable the hoop-stick 4 and the hood to be collapsed into a compartment at the rear of the vehicle. The frame 7 may be locked to the body by a cam plate 25 engaging a roller 21 on the frame, a motor 26 acting through the flexible cable 25 being used to release the lock.
