918,796. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. BILLINGHAM, A. C. Nov. 20, 1961 [Aug. 23, 1960], No. 29049/60. Class 106 (5). A device for supplying measured quantities of liquid to moulds comprises a tray 12 divided by partitions 13 into a number of compartments each having an outlet closed by a valve 15 and the valves are simultaneously raised to discharge the contents by a valve plate 14 actuated by handles 18 through a toggle mechanism 17. The valves may be urged down by gravity alone or by springs and each may comprise a plug fitting in a spout 12a formed by a downward deformation of the tray or a tubular spout may have an 0-ring seal and a tubular member movable within it to bring one or more apertures in the tubular member above or below the seal. In use, the tray is dipped into a container of the liquid to be dispensed and as it is lifted out any surplus spills over the end walls 12b. The tray is then placed over a mould in correct relation to the mould cups and the lifting handles 18 are rotated into a vertical position so that the valve plate 14 is raised Specification 878,419 is referred to.
