918,645. Cartridge loading racks. BOFORS A.B. Dec. 20, 1960 [Jan. 5, 1960], No. 43745/60. Class 9 (1). A folding rack comprises a frame in two parts 1 and 2, hinged at 3, for the transport of cartridges side by side in one plane, the rack carrying fastening members 8 for releasably securing the cartridges on one side of the frame so that the released cartridges move normally to that side of the frame. The projectile part 6 of each cartridge has a groove which is held against a part circular recess 5 in the flanges 4 of the frames by a flexible strip 7 secured adjust. ably at one end by a fastening member 8 which is moved in the guide 9 by screw 10. At the other end of each strip 7 is a member 11 with opening 12 which fits on an arm of a suspension member 13 pivotally mounted on a spindle 14 and whose other arm bears against a lug 15 on the rail 16 extending the lengths of frame 1. When the unfolded rack in Fig. 2 is lowered on to the firearm magazine, a journal 22 on each side acts upon the lever 18 on the spindle 17 which is thus turned clockwise so that by means of the end levers 19 and the linkages 20 and 21, the rails 16 move to the right and disengage the lugs 15 from the member 13. The cartridges then fall by gravity as the members 13 pivot downwards.
