Abstract

Printing pastes or padding or dyeing solutions of soluble reactive dyestuffs containing a dihalogenated triazine residue are stabilised by the addition of ammonium carbonate, or a primary or secondary monoamine or a salt of the latter. Specified amines are ethanolamine, g -methoxy-propylamine, aniline, aniline hydrochloride and preferably sodium-o-, m- or p-amino benzoate or sodium-m- or p-aminobenzene sulphonate. The pastes or solutions may also contain acid-binding agents such as alkali metal carbonates, phosphates, borates or perborates, neutral salts such as alkali metal chlorides and sulphates, and the usual assistants such as urea, methyl cellulose and aliginates. Reactive dyestuffs of the stilbene, azine, dioxazine, phthalocyanine, anthraquinone and metal-free or metalliferous mono- or poly-azo series may be employed. Examples describe the printing of silk fabric, the padding or dyeing of cotton fabric and the padding of regenerated cellulose fabric with the above pastes or solutions.
