Abstract

Dry preparations, pastes and solutions of water soluble organic dyestuffs containing a 2 : 4-dihalogen-1 : 3 : 5-triazine grouping are stabilised by incorporating a borate buffer, such as a mixture of boric acid and an alkali-metal borate and/or an alkali-metal perborate. The dyestuffs specified are those of the stilbene, azine, dioxazine, phthalocyanine, acid anthraquinone, and metal-free and metalliferous monoazo and polyazo series. The compositions may include assistants customary in dyeing and printing such as alkali metal chlorides, sulphates and phosphates, urea, alkyl celluloses and alginates.
