Abstract
917,829. Shearing. MOELLER & NEUMANN G.m.b.H. May 25, 1961 [June 1, 1960], No. 18916/61. Class 83 (4). A plate 15 to be sheared is lined up on a rollway, Figs. 1 and 2, in front of shears 19 in a shearing line by means of levers 11 which are rocked to lift the plate to an inclined position relative to the rollway so that the plate slides to one side of the rollway and abuts against a trueing stop 16. The levers 11 in which are inserted rotatable guide rolls 12 are provided between the rollway rolls 10 and are rocked in groups about an axis 13 by a device 14. The stop 16 is constituted by shoulders formed on the levers 11. As shown, plates 15, 17 are obtained by slitting a blank by means of shears 18. During slitting the blank is held in alignment with the shears 18 by magnets 25 which are mounted on carriages 22, 23 slidable on tracks 24 and which also keep the plate 17 in alignment with parting shears 19. Rules 20, 21 are provided on both sides of the rollway for marking out lengths of the plates 15, 17 before parting. When carrying out a parting operation, the plate 17 which is already in alignment is fed to the shears 19 after the magnets 25 are released. The levers 11 are raised to tilt the plate 15 against the stop 16 and, after the plate 17 has been parted, are lowered so that the plate 15 can then be fed in its correct aligned position. In a modification, rocking levers are provided on both sides of the rollway and operated in turn to align the plates 15, 17. In a further modification, the plate 17 is lined up in a known manner against a trueing stop by a steering device or by inclined positioning of the rollway rolls. In a modification of the trueing stop the latter is formed by a curved surface on one or each of the rules 20, 21 and whose centre of curvature coincides with the axis 13. In a further modification used in front of edging shears where it is necessary to adjust the trueing stop the latter consists of stop blocks adjustably guided on the rocking levers by connecting-rods and cranks connected to a common spindle supported in bearings on or independently of the levers.
