Abstract

917,796. Plumb-lines. DE GRIVEL, C. March 23, 1961 [March 23, 1960], No. 10728/6]. Class 97 (2). A device for use in vertically erecting con struction members such as door posts, comprises a plumb-line 1 fixed at one end to a mounting 2 which may slide in a support which includes an angle-piece 7, and passing through a guide sleeve 15 carried by a similar support with an angle-piece 7, the angle-pieces being removably fixed to the post or other member P, and the point of suspension lying on the axis of the sleeve 15 when the post P is vertical, a reference disc 21 being fixed coaxially to the line 1. The cylindrical plumb-bob 16, through which the line 1 passes, has a screw 20 with a frusto-conical claw which grips the plumb-line when tightened and is connected to the reference disc 21 by a rigid tube 22 which protects the line inside the sleeve 15. The rod 2 which is moved axially by screw-knob 12 is prevented from rotating by the screw 13. The top flange 32 of the sleeve 15 is of the same colour as the top of the disc 21 except for a portion the same size as the disc and concentric with the sleeve. The angle-pieces 7 may be fixed to the post P by vice-like members 14 formed separetely or articulated to the supprt 5 and sleeve 15.
