Abstract

865,044. Ground anchors. NUNEATON ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 26, 1960, No. 2750/60. Class 45. [Also in Group XVIII] A post comprises a pedestal 10, a detachable tubular stem in two parts 11 and 12 and a plate 13. The pedestal is anchored to the ground by two screws 15, each of which has an eye 16 at it's end. A locking bar 20 with an enlarged end 21 is passed through the eye of each screw, through an aperture 18 in the stem, and is secured by a padlock 22. There is an axial slot 23 in the stem through which passes the edge of the plate 13. Two bayonet slots 24 in the plate fit over bolts. 25 passing across the tube, and removal of the plate is prevented by a cable 20 which is attached to the plate at one end, and has an eye at the other end which passes over the locking rod. In a modification three screws and two locking bars in T-formation are used and in a further modification four screws and three bars in an H-formation are used. In a third modification, a spring collar is fitted under the flange 15a of the screw.
