[Also in Group XXI] A multi-stage foam generator comprises first stage ejectors supplied with foam-producing liquid through the nozzles 1 and air through the apertures 2 discharging into a converging conduit 5 when the foam is acted upon by air-free water or foam-producing liquid from the second stage ejector nozzle 6; turbulence is induced which increases the homogeneity, fire extinguishing power and rate of travel of the foam. The conduit 8, 9 is connected to a conduit 10 having a third stage ejector nozzle 11 also supplied with airfree water or foam producing liquid. There may be any number of such stages. The end conduit 10 may be fitted with a spray nozzle or flexible hose.
