916,891. Dry shavers. BUREAU DE RECHERCHES ET D'EXPLOITATION DE PROCEDES ET BREVETS. May 20, 1960 [May 22, 1959], No. 17913/60. Class 131. In a cutting head for an electric dry shaver a stationary grid 1 is pivoted on a grid support 4 and is pivoted away from a movable cutter 3 for cleaning of the grid and the cutter. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3 an end plate 2 of the grid is pivoted on a pin 5 mounted at one end of the grid support and the grid is released by hand pressure on a control lever 6 for movement of the grid under pressure from the cutter, the lever 6 operating a slide against the influence of a spring which urges an aperture in the slide into engagement with a catch 7. In the modification shown in Fig. 4 the end plate 10 is gripped by stationary combs 9 mounted on a resilient strip 8 which deforms on hand pressure on the lever 6 to release the end plate. The invention is stated to be applicable to dry shavers having rotated cutters.
