A drainage structure 11 to be ganged together with an adjacent structure 11 to form a composite drain comprises a liquid-tight floor 15, integral with two opposed upstanding walls 16 and together defining a liquid trap of generally channel-shaped cross-section with at least one open end, the floor 15 being overlain by a grating 12 supported by abutments formed on the walls 16 near the free edges, and means formed adjacent the or one open end of the trap for ganging two such structures together. The structure 11 may have two open ends for ganging together with other structures 11 and the floor 15 may be pitched from one end to the other or from a point between them towards the ends. A drain opening may be formed in the floor 15 and a junction member 14 may be associated therewith for carrying away the liquid. The means for ganging together the structures 11 may comprise a shoulder 23 projecting from the trap adjacent the or each end interengageable with a clamp 20 interengaging with another shoulder 24 on an adjacent structure 11. There may be a shoulder at each end of the trap, at least one being extended to provide a thickened zone 27 in which is formed a threaded recess 26, a bolt 25 passing through the clamp 22 engaging with the recess 26 to fasten the clamp in position. With two open ends, at least one may have a male joint termination 18 for ganging together with a female joint formed of a peripheral flange 17 integral with the walls 16 and floor 15 around the end of another structure 11. When so ganged together, a groove 19 may be formed around the interior of the flange 17 to receive a sealing compound, e.g. mastic. Alternatively, an end plate 13 fitting in the groove 19 may close an open end.
