[Also in Group XV] A portable stage or platform comprises a top element, supporting frame and supporting means for the end portions of the element, means pivotally connecting one end portion of the top element to the frame for swinging movements of the element between the normally horizontal position and a vertical storage position about a horizontal axis, wheel-carrying means mounted on the frame for vertical movements towards and away from supporting contact with the ground and linkage operatively connected to the top element and the wheel-carrying means and responsive to movement of the top element to its normally horizontal position to move the wheel-carrying means upwardly whereby the supporting frame rests on the ground, the linkage being responsive to movement of the top element to the storage position to lower the wheel-carrying means into engagement of the wheels with the ground and elevate the frame from engagement with the ground. A top element 2 is pivotally mounted on a pair of legs 29, 30 and rests on the top of a pair of legs 11, 13. A pair of arms 35, 36 pivotally joins the legs 11, 29 and 13, 30. A pair of cross-members 15, 16 joins the legs 11, 12 and 13, 14 of two top elements 2, 3. The top elements 2, 3 pivot on arms 17, 18 and 21, 22 on the cross-members 15, 16. A bridge element 43 and a leg 44 extending from the cross-member bridges the gap between the top elements. The top element 2 has a cross-bar 46 between legs 11, 13 which mounts two castor wheels 50 and has end tubular heads 47 sliding on legs 11, 13. A pair of links 55 pivotally connects the crossbar 46 with a bracket 53 which abuts a flange 8 on the top element. Raising the top element 2 through a right-angle lowers the wheels to contact the ground, and raises the legs 11, 13 from the ground. A hook 59 along one end and along the sides may engage and flange on an adjacent element to join them together. A number of platforms 60, 61 and 62 may be pivotally connected as a portable unit and form a series of steps providing a chord riser.
