Abstract

A fork lifttruck includes a frame comprising generally horizontal frame members 1 with wheels 3, 4 and an uprights 5 which is perpendicular or substantially perpendicular thereto, along which upright a platform formed by prongs 6 is movable, wherein the upright 5 is connected to the frame for pivotal movement in a vertical plane and the prongs are pivoted so as to be collapsible parallel to the upright, the upright being carried by a pivot 7 extending between a pair of support plates which are mounted on pivoted rods or arms 9, 10 of which the lower arms 10 are pivoted to the frame members 1 and the upper rods 9 are pivoted to pivoted fork arms 24, so that pivoting the arms 24 tilts the upright, and pivoting the arms 10 raises or lowers the upright. Jacks 13, 14 effect the pivoting movements of the arms 24, 10, respectively. The arrangement enables the upright to be made horizontal at the same level as frame members 1 so that the truck can be slung beneath vehicle 23, e.g. <IMAGE>
