Abstract
915,436. Hair drying hoods. BUREAU DE RECHERCHES ET D'EXPLOITATION DE PROCEDES ET BREVETS. Sept. 7, 1960 [June 20, 1960], No. 30839/60. Class 81 (2). A hair drier comprises a hood, in the upper part of which is housed a heating and air circulating assembly consisting of an electric motor, a fan and an electric heater, the assembly being separated by a substantially flat, perforated plate, grid or the like from the lower part of the hood which has a single wall and is completely free to accommodate the user's head, the circulation of air taking place exclusively through the grid or plate. As shown, a motor 6, fan 15, heating coil 5 and a reflector 3 are mounted in the upper part of a hair drying hood, separated from the lower part which is transparent by a grid 14. Air drawn from the hood at f2 and through apertures A at f1 is heated and blown out at f3, some air drawn through the apertures A flowing between the reflector 3 and the hood to cool the latter. The hood may be mounted, by means of brackets 8, on a flex suspended from the ceiling, on a floor stand with rigid or flexible shaft or on a further bracket for mounting on a wall, chair &c.
