Abstract
913,610. Semi-conductor devices. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Aug. 19, 1959 [Aug. 19, 1958], No. 28350/59. Addition to 850,119. Class 37. [Also in Group XXII] A connecting conductor is fixed to a metallic electrode of a semi-conductor device by applying a pair of welding electrodes to closelyspaced parts of the conductor where it overlies the electrode and passing a pulse of current between them to weld the conductor to the electrode, the two welding electrodes forming a unitary assembly with an electrically-insulating insert between them. In an embodiment, two electrodes 1, 2, Fig. 2, forming a unitary member with an insert 3<SP>1</SP> having a longitudinal recess 7 to receive a connecting lead 8, Fig. 3, weld a flange 8a on the lead to the semi-conductor electrode.
