Abstract
912,506. Toothed wheels; linkwork. HUCK, W. F. Sept. 24, 1959, No. 32486/59. Classes 80 (1) and 80 (3). In a composite anti-backlash gear-wheel wherein two similar narrow gears are mounted side-by-side on a common hub and are urged by spring means in opposite angular directions, the hub 22 has a number of arms 30 to each of which is pivoted at 34 an arm 36 carrying on a single pivot 44 two links 46, 48, respectively pivoted at 50 to the two side-by-side gears 20 (only one of which is seen in Fig. 1). Each arm 36 is urged outwardly by a spring 58 seated in an opening in the hub 22 so that the pairs of links 46, 48 urge the two gears in opposite directions relatively to the hub 22. The relative movements are limited by a pin 62 carried by the hub and engaging oversize openings in the two gears.
