912,369. Attachments for shearing. GERMANN, V. March 17, 1959 [March 18, 1958], No. 9183/59. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for severing strip-material 16 fed stepwise by a punching &c. machine 26 comprises an oscillatory cutter 11 and a coacting stationary cutter 12. The apparatus is fixed to the table &c. 4 of the punching-machine by screws 23. Adjustment of the apparatus is by packing 22 and/or a screw or pin 19 engaging one of the holes 18 in the apparatus. Oscillation of the cutter 11 is by a rigid toggle or (as shown) telescopic connecting-rod 27, 28 which is connected at one end to the punch-holder 25, as by a pivot 29 or spring means pressing the rod against an abutment on the holder 25, and at the other to the blade-holder 7 so as to permit adjustment of--the angle α. The strip is fed through a guide 12 and the cut-pieces discharged through a shoot 24.
