Abstract

1502035 Skiving apparatus ARMSTRONG CORK CO 12 Aug 1976 [14 Aug 1975] 33596/76 Heading B8B A skiving machine for cutting an endless loop of material into a strip having two bevelled ends the machine comprising a mandrel 4 on which the loop is clamped by a plate 16 during cutting by a knife blade 30. The knife is mounted on a support-plate 32 provided with bearing sleeves 34 which slide on rods 36 secured to the clamping plate 16. The plate 16 is mounted on a pivot 18 and moved from the position shown in Fig. 1 to a clamping position, Fig. 2 (not shown) by a pneumatic ram 22. The knife is moved back- and-forth to sever the material by means of a pneumatic ram 40.
