Abstract

912,134. Recording-apparatus. CLEVITE CORPORATION. May 19, 1959 [May 23] 1958], No. 16937/59. Class 106 (4). In an apparatus for magnetic oscillography as in Specification 823,157 in which an oscillographic record 11 is traced on a wide magnetic medium 10 and produces a magnetic state of opposite polarity on each side of the oscillographic trace, transverse magnetic calibrating lines representing time, and longitudinal magnetic lines calibrating lines representing amplitude values, are traced on the medium immediately after making the record trace. The transverse lines may be made by a single transverse wire 25, Fig. 6, carrying a pulsing current, in which case the line would be recorded on one side only of the trace, or may be made by a narrow loop of wire 50, Fig. 7, in which case the line would be recorded on both sides of the trace. Longitudinal lines may be recorded by a number of needle-like permanent magnets 61, Fig. 8.
