Abstract

The invention comprises the potassium salt of 3-trichloromethyl-6-chloro-7-sulphamoyl-3,4-dihydrobenzo-1,4, 4-thiadiazine and its preparation by condensing 4-amino-6-chlorobenzene-1,3-disulphonamide with chloral, preferably at about 100 DEG C. in the presence of a base and salifying the free acid to give the potassium salt. Pharmaceutical preparations having diuretic activity comprise the above salt in admixture with a pharmaceutical carrier. They may take the form of tablets or of solutions for injection. Specification 861,367 is referred to.
