Abstract

912,088. Locking-screws. KELLERMANN, R. March 18, 1959, No. 9305/59. Class 89 (1). A self-locking screw comprises a shank 10 with screwed portions 11, 12 separated by a reduced-diameter part 13 and with the thread pitches axially off-set relatively to each other. The screw has an axial bore 14 extending from the end remote from head 9 through part 13, and may be used for adjusting valve clearance in an internal combustion chamber. In a modification, the screw is bored axially from the head and through part 13 and has an axial protuberance at the other of smaller diameter than the thread.
