Abstract

764,877. Fuel injectors. BARBISAN, L. E. Jan. 4, 1955 [Jan. 7, 1954], No. 207/55. Class 7 (3). A fuel injector comprises a body part 1 to one end of which is clamped a valve housing 4 whilst the other end accommodates a valve loading spring 8 acting upon the valve through a push-rod 10, the body 1 having in a groove 15 intermediate its length a radially divided abutment ring 13 for engagement by a locking nut 5a adapted to be screwed into the cylinder head or block. The ring 13 is retained in its groove by a resilient split ring 14 and the valve housing 7 is held over the end of the body 1 by a screwed nut 5b provided with radial holes 6 which permit fuel leaking past the valve to be withdrawn through a duct 7. The nut 5a pushes the body 1 and its attached nut 5b downwardly on to a copper washer 17 resting on the seat 18.
