Abstract
911,125. Internal combustion engines. GOOSSAK, L.A. Aug. 5, 1959, No. 26688/59. Class 7(2) An internal combustion engine has a precombustion chamber 2 provided with spark ignition and a main combustion chamber 1 communicating with the chamber 2 by two nozzle passages 4. The inflammation of the working mixture is effected by a spray of chemically active products of incomplete combustion of a rich precombustion chamber mixture, the composition of which is adjusted, before ignition, to ensure a considerable deficiency of air with the limiting range of an excess of air ratio being from 0À4 to 0À7. The excess of air ratio αQ=GB/GT.LT where GB is the quantity by weight or volume of air and GT is the quantity by weight or volume of fuel in the mixture in the precombustion chamber whilst LT is the theoretical weight or volume of air required for complete combustion of the quantity by weight or volume of fuel in a given mixture.
