A device for holding a hose 20 close to the nozzle end thereof comprises a stand, a hose holder pivotably mounted on the stand, and a notch and pawl means with a number of closely spaced notches associated with the stand and hose-holder to enable the latter to be located in any of a number of angular positions. As shown, a metal tube 11 provided with a spike 12 and a disc 13 welded or screwed thereon has the upper end thereof slotted to provide a fork in which is pivoted a semi-circular plate 15 notched at 16, the notches being engaged by a pointed, spring-loaded plunger 23 so that a plate 17 carrying the hose in spring clips 18, 19 may be adjusted to any desired angle of elevation.
