Abstract

909,456. Photographic cameras. VOIGTLANDER A.G. Jan. 27, 1959 [July 4, 1958], No. 2934/59. Class 98 (1). A photographic camera, preferably a reflex camera, comprises a manual adjusting member for two trains of transmission gearing to be adjusted simultaneously and in a related manner; one of the trains has parts coupled together by meshing teeth so that there is play, while the other is constructed free of play but with an adjusting device by means of which play equal to that of the other train can be introduced. In the embodiment shown, adjustable rings 4, 5 for exposure time and stop value are adjustable simultaneously in the same direction by the rotation of a shaft 20 acting through a movable ring 23 and pinion 25 rotatably mounted on ring 23, or in opposite directions by rotating ring 4. The shaft 20 is connected through tooth wheels 29-32 to a wheel 45, projections 46 of which rest in notches 38 of a cylinder attached to wheel 32. A disc 50 couples a film sensitivity disc 58 and a cam disc 41 to the wheel 45. The follow-up pointer of an exposure meter is connected to a spindle which can be rotated indirectly by the cam disc 40. A tooth 53 can be disconnected from teeth 47 of wheel 45 and when disc 50 is then rotated the film sensitivity indicator 58 moves with respect to index 60 and the follow-up pointer is also moved to a position corresponding to sensitivity. When tooth 53 engages teeth 47, rotation of wheel 45 rotates both the follow-up pointer and the rings 5, 4 by a corresponding amount. In order to introduce the desired extra play into the cam 40 and follow-up pointer train, prongs 54 of disc 50 which move in aperture 55 of cam 41 are bent outwards or inwards by a requisite amount to delay rotation of said cam, if a light filter is used. After the shutter has been adjusted disc 45 is rotated further using reference marks 43 on cam 41 and a scale on the camera housing.
