A photographic camera having a built-in photoelectric exposure meter and a manual adjusting member mounted on the camera body by adjustment of which a follow-up mark associated with the pointer of the exposure meter and at the same time transmission gearing operating on a light value setting member of a shutter on the objective are actuated is characterized by a scale calibrated for filter factors and reference marks relating thereto, one part of this arrangement being connected with the manual adjusting member and the other part being on the camera body. As shown (Fig. 2) a camera comprises an exposure meter pointer 16 visible in a view finder 13 together with a followup pointer 18 coupled through a cam ring 40 and cam follower 64 to a manual adjusting knob 45. The knob 45 is also coupled through gears 29-31 and a shaft 20 to a differential gear mechanism for setting the light value of the camera-as described hereafter. A filter factor scale 44 (Fig. 1) is provided on the camera top 2 and a series of reference marks 43 on the knob 45, by which, after an adjustment of knob 45 to obtain registry of the pointers (with consequent setting of the camera according to light value), a further adjustment of the knob 45 may be effected to take a filter factor into account. In this last adjustment, that mark 43, which ends up adjacent the zero mark of scale 44 is used as index. The differential gear mechanism referred to above comprises, as shown (Fig. 5), a ring 23 in toothed engagement with a pinion 21 on the end of shaft 20 and carrying a planet wheel 25 in toothed engagement with both a diaphragm setting ring 5 and an exposure time setting ring 4. Ring 4 is provided with a finger piece 28 by means of which the aperture/exposure time combination may be altered at constant light value. In order that different film sensitivities may be taken into account the cam ring 40 may be uncoupled from the knob 45 and moved to different angular positions relative thereto (on depression of a projecting finger piece 58), a film sensitivity scale 58 rotatable with the cam disc 40 and an index mark 60 on the knob 45 being provided for this purpose. This releasable coupling is described in detail in the Specification with reference to Fig. 4, not shown. To counteract the effect of play in the transmission gears 29- 32, a similar amount of play is provided in the coupling between finger piece 57 and cam ring 40. A rewind knob 36 and spindle 34 is provided coaxial with the knob 45.
