Abstract

908,932. Binding posts. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 24, 1960 [Feb. 24, 1959], No. 6400/59. Class 38 (1). A contact for insertion in a board comprises a hollow thin walled body, e.g. of beryllium copper, having a longitudinal slot 11 with notches 3, 4 extending therefrom. The diameter or width of the resilient contact is reduced as it is pushed through an aperture 13 in a board 12, until the notches 3, 4 are level with the aperture whereupon the diameter increases and the sides of the notches engage the board to secure the contact. The terminal may be connected to a printed circuit on one or both sides of the board 12 by soldering and wires may be soldered in one or both ends of the contact.
