Abstract
908,434. Feeding webs. INSTITUT FUR GRAFISCHE TECHNIK. Nov. 21, 1960, No. 40016/60. Class 100 (1). [Also in Groups VIII, XV and XXX] In apparatus for making book covers (see Group XV) a web of cover material is fed to the grippers 5 of an endless conveyer by rotating rollers 1, 3, a predetermined length of material being pulled off the reel A by a vertically-rising and falling roller 2. The angular velocity of rollers 9 carrying cutters 8 is adjustable whereby predetermined lengths of material are severed from the web. The web feeding mechanism may be detached from the apparatus and replaced by mechanism for feeding separate sheets of cover material to the apparatus.
