Abstract

907,335. Magnetic switches. CAMCO Inc. July 15, 1960 [July 30, 1959], No. 24709/60. Class 38 [5). [Also in Group XXI] Series connected D'Arsonval type switch devices 31, 32 are polarized to effect operation by the location of a movable member 40 which includes permanent magnets 44 and has its magnetic circuits arranged to correspond to the spacing of the ends of magnetic pole members 37 which extend to opposite sides of the switch devices 31, 32. The member 40 has a body 39 of magnetic material, magnetic spacers 43 and non-magnetic spacers 42 having rings of cylindrical permanent magnets 44 arranged so that magnetic circuits can be completed by magnetically coupled members adjacent the ring of permanent magnets and a member 43. Such circuits are completed by members 37 and magnetic inserts 38 in the wall of the tube through which the member 40 is passed. The members 42, 43 may be arranged in a different sequence on the body 39 (Fig. 10, not shown) and will effect operation of switch devices having a corresponding sequence of pole member 37 and will not operate the arrangement shown in Fig. 2.
