Abstract

907,077. Window &c. frames; connecting metal members. CRITTALL MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. June 6, 1961, No. 20456/61. Classes 20 (2) and 20 (3). The right-angled joint of a metal window &c. frame constituted by bars 1, 2 of Z-section is formed by removing parts of the main side flanges 3, 4 and the joining web 5 to provide edges 6, 14 and 8 on one bar 1 which abut the edges 12, 11 and 9 on the other bar 2. The end of the bar 2 is provided with a projecting web portion 13 which is deformed as shown in broken line, to engage over and to be secured to the web at the end of the other bar 1. The web 5 of the bar 1 may be recessed at 16 to accommodate the bent-over portion 13 which is secured to the web 5 of bar 1 by welding or by rivets passing through holes in the portion 13 and web 5 of bar 1.
