906,938. Semi-conductor devices. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 9, 1959 [Jan. 14, 1958], No. 891/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. A semi-conductor body is provided with an electrode of aluminium alloy by first alloying a non-aluminium component of the alloy to the semi-conductor body and then providing and fusing aluminium to the component to provide the electrode. The semi-conductor may consist of germanium and the alloy component of lead. The aluminium may be added as a dispersion in polymethylmetacrylate in xylene, or a powder of aluminium and silver may be used. The final proportion of aluminium in the electrode may be less than 5%. The invention may be used to produce a transistor or a diode.
