[Class 37] The active, selenium, layer 2 is spaced from the base-plate 1 by an insulating washer 3 so that pressure, on assembly, on the counter electrode 4 is transmitted to the base-plate only at these parts. A further insulating washer 5 may be fitted. In a modification, the washer 3 is an annular one and the centre of the disc is the active part.
